Elementary Math Specialist Scholarship

Funder: The Math Learning Center (MLC) in collaboration with the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE)

Purpose: This scholarship program provides financial support to elementary mathematics specialists, teacher leaders, instructional coaches, and teachers seeking to develop expertise in elementary mathematics education.

Award Details:

  • Award Amount: $1,000 - $2,000 per scholarship (historically $1,000, increased to $2,000 by 2017)

  • Number of Awards: Three scholarships awarded annually

  • Total Annual Funding: $3,000 - $6,000
  • Eligibility:

  • Current elementary educators

  • Teachers, teacher leaders, or coaches supporting effective mathematics instruction at classroom, school, district, or state levels

  • Individuals planning to enroll in university coursework to become certified elementary mathematics specialists
