Overview

This scholarship honors Elliott "Chip" Miller, co-founder of Carlisle Events (1974) and creator of the iconic Corvettes at Carlisle event (1982). Chip passed away in 2004 from amyloidosis, a rare disease. The CMAF was established by his family and friends to raise awareness, promote early detection, and support research for a cure.

The Chip Miller Memorial Scholarship is designed to support the next generation of automotive enthusiasts who share Chip's passion for the automotive industry.

    Eligibility

  • Open to: High school students, undergraduate students, graduate students, and trade school students
  • Field of Study: Must be pursuing a career in the automotive field (includes automotive mechanics, automotive design, automotive restoration, automotive machining, automotive technology, and related fields)
  • Selection Criteria: Ambition, drive, and passion for the automotive hobby

  • Number of Awards: Multiple awards; in 2025 (inaugural year), 9 students received awards ($9,000 total); for 2026, at least 10 winners are anticipated with over $10,000 available

Background

Chip Miller co-founded Carlisle Events in 1974 and was an internationally renowned Corvette enthusiast. He helped establish Carlisle, Pennsylvania as a premier automotive destination and created events that drew families and car enthusiasts from around the world. His legacy continues through the foundation's work in amyloidosis awareness and research, as well as through this scholarship supporting the next generation of automotive professionals and enthusiasts.
