Overview: The Barbara Markham Accounting/Business Scholarship provides $1,000 each spring to students pursuing a degree in accounting or business.
- Must be pursuing a degree in accounting or business
- Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited baccalaureate or graduate-level program
- Must have completed at least half of their program
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Must provide sealed official college transcript

How to Apply
Application Process
1. Complete the GMC Foundation Scholarship Application
2. Submit a 250-word essay addressing: "Why I chose my major and how I will contribute to my chosen profession upon graduation"
3. Provide three personal references using the online recommendation form or sealed envelopes
- At least one reference must be from an instructor
- References from relatives are NOT acceptable
4. Submit sealed official college transcript
5. Deadline: All applications, reference letters, and transcripts must be received by 5:00 pm on April 15
- Late or incomplete applications will not be considered
- All completed applications reviewed by Scholarship Committee in May
- Finalists selected and invited for phone or virtual interviews
- Selected recipients notified in writing and recognized in July
- Scholarships paid directly to colleges after July 1 (start of fiscal year)
Selection Process
- Must remain enrolled full-time for the entire academic year in which they receive the award
- If student is no longer enrolled, Foundation Director will notify college and request return of scholarship funds
