The League of American Orchestras (also known as the American Symphony Orchestra League) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in New York City at 520 8th Avenue, Suite 2203. Founded in 1942 and chartered by Congress in 1962, the League is the only national organization dedicated solely to the orchestral experience in America. The organization serves a diverse membership of more than 2,000 organizations and individuals across North America, including world-renowned orchestras, community groups, summer festivals, student and youth ensembles, conservatories, libraries, and businesses serving orchestras.
