Small Business Development & Lending: LEDC provides comprehensive small business support services including group workshops, cohort-based learning, and one-on-one technical assistance. Services cover business planning, licensing, establishing an online presence, sales strategies, accounting fundamentals, financial management, and technology adoption. The organization offers interest-free credit-building loans ranging from $500 to $2,500 and small business loans up to $250,000. LEDC is a U.S. Treasury certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) as of 2003 and serves as an SBA microlending intermediary.
Homeownership & Foreclosure Counseling: LEDC helps individuals purchase their first homes through classes, workshops, and individual counseling, including credit repair and application assistance for the DC Home Purchase Assistance Program. The organization also provides foreclosure intervention counseling to help struggling homeowners.
Affordable Housing Preservation: LEDC works to preserve affordable housing and help residents take control of decisions affecting their apartment buildings.
