The Foundation operates across three primary program areas:
Research Programs: AOTF supports a wide array of research initiatives in occupational therapy, including publication of OTJR: Occupational Therapy Research Journal (published quarterly), annual research grants that develop the science of occupational therapy through studies and surveys, topic-specific collectives that bring together leading scientists and funding sources, and workshops and sessions at the annual conference.
Educational & Scholarship Programs: The Foundation annually awards over 50 scholarships and provides fellowships to individuals working on their doctorate or post-doctorate degrees. It supports students attending the Occupational Therapy Summit meeting and supports the profession's honor society, which inducts over 1,200 new members annually across more than 100 chapters.
