Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure: Technical assistance and training for small water and waste disposal systems serving rural and tribal communities with populations under 10,000. Programs work to build technical, managerial, and financial capacity to achieve and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and implement best practices for long-term sustainability.
Solid Waste Programs: Support for rural communities in managing solid waste infrastructure and operations.
Private Well Protection: Assistance to private well owners on well construction, operation, maintenance, testing, and compliance with local and state health requirements.
Economic Development: Building local capacity for economic opportunity and prosperity in rural communities.
Community Infrastructure: Support for environmental infrastructure development including water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities.
Housing Development: Affordable housing development assistance for rural communities.
Leadership and Capacity Building: Training and technical assistance to develop community leadership and organizational capacity.
Grantmaking
RCAP provides funding to its regional partner network and works with federal agencies to direct resources to rural communities.
