**Family Heritage:**

2021

The Zuckermans' philanthropic commitment is rooted in their family's Holocaust history. Wayne's father, Abraham Zuckerman, survived six concentration camps and was saved by Oskar Schindler. Wayne's mother, Mina Zuckerman, was hidden by righteous Gentiles during World War II. Deborah's mother, Ruth Wolff Firsty, escaped Berlin in 1938, with assistance from fake papers obtained by Deborah's grandfather, a physician. Ruth Wolff Firsty was living in Florida at age 90 at the time of the 2021 honor.
