Vision: All children will have high-quality early learning experiences leading to success in school and life.

Mission: Lead and support the early learning community to promote and deliver high-quality early learning experiences to young children, accessible to all eligible families in Broward County.

Core Values:

  • Customer Centric: Delivering outstanding customer service to providers, families, and community partners

Primary Program Areas:

The Coalition administers two main programs:

  1. School Readiness (SR) Program — Provides subsidized child care for children from eligible economically disadvantaged families, primarily ages birth to five, as well as after-school care for school-age children and those involved in foster care or the child welfare system. The program is funded primarily by the federal Child Care and Development Fund Block Grant and serves to prepare young children to successfully transition to school and help close the achievement gap for low-income families.

  2. Quality and Education Services — Dedicated to increasing the quality of early care and education for all children in Broward County. The Coalition uses the nationally recognized Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) to assess and score child care programs. Coach specialists use CLASS information to design customized, evidence-based quality improvement plans.

The Coalition provides training and quality support services to over 628 child care providers operating in the county.
