Stanley M. Reinhaus was born in California in 1932, the son of a successful lawyer. He graduated from Menlo Community College in California before attending the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, where he graduated in 1958. After practicing pharmacy in California for approximately ten years, he returned to Tucson in 1970 and became involved in stock market investments and philanthropy. He made his first donation to the University of Arizona Foundation in the mid-1980s and established the Stanley M Reinhaus Family Foundation in 1991 to formalize his commitment to supporting pharmacy education.
