NCRC's work spans several core program areas:
Accountability and Enforcement Program — Conducts testing and investigations, pursues independent enforcement actions, provides training, and produces analysis to ensure equitable access to affordable housing choices.
Coalition Building Program — Provides a broad set of benefits and special services to member organizations, including data analysis, trainings, technical assistance, and legislative and regulatory updates. NCRC hosts an annual Just Economy Conference, described as one of the largest gatherings of community nonprofits, policymakers, government officials, small businesses, financial institutions, and academia.
Housing Counseling Program — NCRC serves as a HUD National Housing Counseling Intermediary, providing capacity building to members through its National Training Academy and housing counseling services.
Community Development Financial Services — Through its subsidiary, the NCRC Community Development Fund, Inc., a U.S. Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution, NCRC provides loan capital to expand access to affordable homeownership and support Black-, Brown-, and woman-owned businesses.
